This piece was developed from experience in a previous portrait studio and having had many people ask, ‘If they can be photoshopped’, or ‘made a size 10’.
I used myself and all my insecurities to digitally work on a split images that shows a before and after scenario. With da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man behind, which was about the perfect anatomy of man.

The image represents how, as a woman, I buy limitless amounts of products to make myself look better, but my self-perception of how I look in the mirror and how I feel I look are often different.

|http://www.ninephotos.co.uk/galleries/conceptual/Conceptual13_thumb.jpgWrath|Fine Art|12th May 2007|An Inclination to Sin
Inspired by the conceptual art photography of the 1980s, An Inclination to Sin uses constructed photography to deliver a body of work that uses the Seven Deadly Sins as an initial theme. Interested in a sense of ambiguity in the work, the images have been developed in order to create uncertainty in the viewer. The silence of the photographs enables the audience to create their own scenario of what is happening, and this was important in getting the audience to engage with the work on more than one level.

The seat taken here was found in Dahab, Egypt, but on every coastline in the world, there is always a seat placed with the sea in view, in order for its occupant to take rest and gaze out to the horizon, be it a tropical climate, or cold Blackpool seafront.
