Elephants on the wedding guest list

Friday, 30th September 2011

New to Twycross Zoo is the option to have your wedding reception right there at the zoo and this is what made it for Laura and Ian, because they had taken the girls to this zoo for years.

Laura worked hard to create her own personalised wedding theme and the details were there from the paw print diamante on her nails, through to the animal print ribbons and cake. Kept as a secret, it was the red dress that stood out against the colours of the giraffes and everyone agreed, that Laura looked stunning on the day.

On arrival at the zoo, the guest were taken aboard the wedding train to have photographs taken with the elephants in the background. Following this, Laura, Ian and their family were given time to spend at the giraffe enclosure. Here, the zoo had created an edible bouquet for the bride & groom to feed to the giraffes and so for me, this was a brilliant photographic opportunity and not one that you get to do at every wedding.

The reception was held in a private room and for the evening, the party was transferred to the main area of the zoo after closing, with the glass backdrop that overlooks the Snow Leopard territory. It was so much fun to go to work on this day and I know the guests really appreciated the invitation with a difference.

Congratulations to Laura & Ian. You will have some wonderful memories.
